Has anyone else noticed the irony of Woman's World and many other magazines? They have a diet right on the cover advertising how much weight you can lose, and right underneath it is an advertisement for a recipe for a seven layer fudge cake! I just find it amusing... lol
Also, hi! I'm a new member to this site, and so far it seems great! I love the price I just wish more people would become active or participate! I'm definitely tellin' my friends!

Ironic? Yeah. It keeps them in business, though. First you buy the mag for the seven layer cake recipe, later you buy it for the latest stupid diet. Works everytime! |

No, first you buy it for the diet and then you get so hungry you want the 7-layer cake. They get you both ways. |

Not only that, the diet usually shows some skinny Minnie that lost 7 pounds in 14 days. If I only had 7 pounds to lose, I certainly wouldn't be on a diet! Shoot, I can lose 7 pounds just sweating on a hot summer day!

I've also seen articles in Woman's World about women who have lost over 100 pounds and it shows them with tight skin afterward, like most people who lose that much weight don't have hanging skin.
But all women's magazines are like that, they have to cover the whole span of what they think their readers want to see. It's the same on TV, I'll be watching some talk show tell me all about weight loss, eating right, and exercising then see 20 commercials for fast food and candy bars. LOL Which always makes me think I should go eat something horrible for me then go on a diet the next day, but mostly I do neighter.

That's so true-but I also hate it that any time there is a fat person on TV or movies-they are always eating. What's up with that? I am not at all skinny but out of my whole family I eat the least amount and they are not big. Very annoying and insulting if you ask me.

And why does anyone who is the least bit large always play the comic relief or sidekick?
Sure they're funny, but they can be cool, sexy, etc. too!
