i never really got this,how can a BBW women not want to date a BHM.it's like if i was a smoker(im not by the way) and i said "im a smoker,but i don't want to date a smoker" isn't that contradicting?

`Not contradictory, most people have preferences. Like, take the smoking thing for example. If I smoked, I don't think I'd want to be with a smoker because she may be one of those heavy smokers that you see on t.v at the roadside diners with the raspy voices.

I agree with 89shifty, people have preferences. Like I prefer a guy taller (shortest being 5'5, I'm 5'3 and most guys are taller anyways), as far as physique the only thing I prefer is that he is active. He can be a bhm as long as he likes to go out, take a walk sometimes instead of sitting all the time or being winded after a block. I've dated bigger guys, scarily skinny guys, well built, and average. Other than him being 5'5 or taller and active I don't have a "type" physically.

`well this is one bbw that doesn't like slender men body wise.As a matter of fact a guy approached me the other day with a 33 inch waist(yes I did ask) and he was what some call fit but not me.In my eyes he was skinny and I told him that(in a nice way of course) and wished him all the best.I think there are alot of folks without a clue as to what their really attracted to and therefore are in the process of trying them all on for size and fit,so to speak.I think these folks need to search inside themselves before running up to alot of other ppl to find out what they want in another.People aren't like clothes and dating shouldn't be treated like a fitting room imo

thanks for the comments,you guys made good points.but it still seems kinda hypocrit-ish when a women is big but dosen't want to date a big man.it's almost like she wouldn't date herself then.

`Everyone has preferences in what they like. It's something that makes us unique.
I was turned down IRL a while ago from a large man. I can only assume I'm not his preference. It hurt my feelings, but I hold no grudges. I've turned down dates before due to physical/intellectual preference as well.

The two things that are crucial to me are height and he must not have rocks in his head. Everything else is negotiable
Unfortunately, if he's short, or even gorgeous but sounds like Joey on Friends? Not gonna happen.

Basically, I'm thinking it would be a VERY boring world if we had to date our "type", exclusively.

So I used to be into JUST thin guys. But my most recent ex had some meat on his bones. He was't fat in my eyes, although he thought he was. But I would have never dated him years before. I had a specific "type" that I was after, but I grew up a bit, and I still do prefer average guys..guilty!...but I wouldn't completely turn down a guy who was a little bit bigger, because I've already been with one. I've thrown out that type I was looking for. Being treated right is what matters. Big or not. Now height....lol because I'm short, I just can't be with a short guy. Too weird for me.

`I don't see what the big deal is, people are always going to have likes and dislikes, physical, mental, spiritual, the truth is there is too many things about a person, for everyone to like somebody who is a similar size. Myself, I'm a thinner, more athletic type, but I do not date skinny girls, because that is my preference. I do not have anything against them, it's just not for me. I mean, its just like saying a catholic is a hipocrit for not dating catholics, maybe they want somebody different, I mean it goes back to the whole yin yang thing, opposites attract ect. as stated above, there are both bbws that prefer thinner guys, ones that prefer bigger guys, ones that prefer taller guys. You can't begrudge somebody for not finding a type attractive, it's in our nature to seek out new things, and different things.

`I know I am a little late on posting on this but I have to agree with most of the other posts, people like what they like. Some people dont even have a real type they are open to all things. Thats just the way of the world. It would be a uninteresting place if everyone liked just what there type was, or something similar to themselves. It would be like going back to the days when only the same religions dated or the same race or only rich with rich and poor with poor. How boring! Lol
I get it alot though because a lot of people tell me I look innocent and preppy or something similar but I am not really attracted to preppy or straight laced guys. I tend to go for a guy with an edge, tattoos, peircings, or whatever. My friends are baffled by it lol
