I'm not really saying this happens to me, but I has and I see it happen to alot of other people. I love the fact that this website let you write forums and express the way you feel about things. The one thing I don't care for is when I was reading other forums posted some people would directly insult other people for what they had to say or misunderstand what someone had to say and try to lable them for it, but yet never would give someone the benefit of the doubt to ask them to clarify what they had said and what they meant. I can see why some people would not want to even express their own opinion about things, it would be scary for some people to read what other think about what they wrote. I, myself, am not afraid of what other people think, but I can understand not wanting to hear it though. The only thing I could ask is if someone writes a forum try to respect what they have say even if you disagree with the subject and please don't insult someone for their opinion, but rather give constructive advise.
Thank you all for reading this post and better yet thank you all for writing a forum. :)

I agree with you totally. It can be upsetting when something you post online is misconstrued, and you get dogpiled without ever being given a chance to explain what you meant. I really enjoy reading the forums, because it gives me an idea of what and how people think, but when a thread erupts into a massive flamewar, I lose interest quickly. I'm all for differences of opinion, but I prefer well thought out, civil discussion to personal attacks. Thanks for bringing this up, especially for those of us who are nervous about posting because we might be misunderstood. Thanks for listening!

`That is so true. I think civil discussions are great because you can share opinions or even learn things you didnt know. But some people take things to personally and say things out of anger without asking what that person really meant because they felt the right to say that after somebody 'disrespected' them. Not realising they are doing the same thing too.
Personally I think argueing with that person would only make things worse because he already has its own interpretation. So I would just tell him what I meant and that it wasnt my intention to offend. If he continues saying mean things then just ignore them and continue with the topic.
I understand too why i person would be scared to post his or her opinion on a forum. But misunderstandings happens all the time, the this is to solve them in a civilised way.
But I would say think twice before you judge or insult somebody!

`"some people take things to personally and say things out of anger"
I know I am guilty of this one, hehe. I'm the friendliest person you'll ever meet, honestly! I'm not a "forum fighter" However, if someone deliberately misunderstands me in order to insult me, I will retaliate faster than you can say boo. I guess that's part of forum life though. The right to express and defend yourself.

In response to the last reply. Yes, you do have the right to defend yourself if someone attacks you or what you wrote out of misunderstanding. But, I personally feel two wrongs don't make it right. What I'm saying is sometimes when you throw dirt you can lose ground for your foundation you worked so hard to build. What I think is you don't have to throw insults back at someone to prove your point or your better, I feel the best way to deal with someone like that is either ignore them or stand up for yourself in a positive way.
This is just the way I feel and it does not mean it's right for everone. Sometimes you have to do what works best for you.
Thanks for all the replies so far(I do appreciate them) and have a great day.
