Posted:     Post subject: The results of a picture posted online?

I was always told if I post a picture for an online dating site it should be the most recent and fairly visible. Well, from my experiences that could be a good or bad thing for some people. This something I noticed though, some people will post an illusionary photo of themselves(which I too have been guilty of at one time or another). A photo like this is perhaps a facial shot taken at an angle and in dim light to hide flaws and how heavy you really are. The biggest thing I'll notice on a BBW dating site is most of the photos taken by people that are overweight are not full body shot either. Here is something I dare everyone to do, post a recent, clear full body picture of yourself online with something like a 7 mega pixel camera in good lighting(believe me, this is something I will be doing within the next couple when my friend come over to take the pictures). The point I am getting at is you WILL see how well you really would do in person with the people that respond to you and you WILL know how many of your responses are real. Scary thought, isn't it. If you do all of this then most of you WILL see how shallow people really are and know how good looking you are to other people. Results will vary from person to person.

Nothing I wrote in this forum is meant to be negative. I only wrote these things down to maybe prevent people from wasting their time and going on a wasted date because of what the other person would think when they see you in person. Believe me, this has happened to me and I would never wish it upon anyone else. Actually to post a good, clear full body shot of yourself might be rewarding because if you do go on a date good odds your date will not be disappointed with your appearance and that to me is a great feeling . I personally would rather have fewer responses then alot of responses that would never work out. I guess that is also part of having a good profile and being honest with everyone.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and if you have a story you would like share about that experience with the photos you posted please feel free to reply because I'd love to hear it.

Thank again for reading this forum and best wishes to all.

`Hey,

That is a good thought there.Honestly I always pick up the nicest pictures..lol
But the pictures I put are always recent pictures and I also try to put videos and use my cam. So far I havent had any problems that a guy though I looked different when we met. I should probably do what you suggested, post a clear full body shot of myself. I tried to post one but it was to big.
But that is the risk about the internet too, you never know. Sometimes you are not even sure if that picture is of that person. Happened to me once in the past.
So you have to be carefull online. I think having a cam is pretty important and also a microphone to talk with the person. Oh and take your time, try not to take conclusions if you barely know somebody. Somebody might seem nice at first but people lie.
Personally I dont worry to much about the looks and try not to have high expectations as long as the person is nice and being honest. But then again how do you know for sure that the person is being honest?

So yea I agree with what you said. Everyone needs to try to be more honest about themselves so that person who got an eye on your profile doesnt get high expectations about you and get disapointed when you meet. That way you are not wasting somebody elses time and or yours too. In the end thats all you can be, yourself. So you better find somebody who like you for what you are.

Good post!

I too, agree with posting "real" pics.
I know it can be intimidating posting pictures in any group like this, everyone wants to put on their best pics.
I see nothing wrong with posting what you believe is the best picture of yourself, but in the end you need to be you,so add a bit of both!
You never know, what you think is your worst look, someone else might find quiet attractive!
I'm new here so I have not posted a lot of pics, and the space is limited, but on other sites I have a bit of everything-even the no make up pics!LOL..Maybe that's why I'm here!
