So this year is zipping by and soon cold weather will be knocking at my door. Just wanted to say hi to all the folks I talk with on here and also to any newbies lurking about.
Get out your best silliest costume memories and tell me about them.
The funniest I have seen is the year my son and his buddies( all about 15-16 years old) borrowed old prom dresses from big sisters and friends of big sisters and the tallest of the boys dressed wrapped in his mothers sheets and was an Arab and the other boys in drag were his harem. Those guys looked soooo funny. Wish the photos would have turned out.

`Nice, cookin'. I looooove Halloween and I always dress up. I've been a cavemen, Velma (from Scooby-doo...and yes, I pulled it off very well:P), and most recently a psycho doctor. I was going to hang that costume up...but my friends daughter INSISTS that I keep it on one more year (her mom is my "assistant").
So, off I go, in a lab coat covered in blood once again to strike terror into the hearts of the kidlets! Bwa hahahaha! Can't wait!
Best memory was the scare-off between the evil doctor and the guy in the scream mask, with a bunch of kids cheering us on

`I personally don't get into the whole Halloween dress up thing. That being said I do like showing up to the parties with my camera and taking a load of memory cards along just in case I find a funny costume or two.
a few years back went to a BBW/ Halloween party in a large town then mine, and saw some awesome costumes mostly hand made, a few store boughten ones but for the most part just home made. Some were so funny the camera was shaking as I took the pics. I saw a few that were tacky, and in bad taste but hey there is always someone out to spoil the fun.

`I figured since it's obvious at this point that I am never going to find a solemate and get married, I am going to dress up as a Zombie bride and go walk through the mall. Only way I can wear a wedding dress and not look like a crazy person lol

`my home town started doing something called zombie walk and they had their first on in August(?)
(removed)
Here is a link with a photo.
It was hilarious and some of the younger people I work with participated and had a blast.
Don't recall the reason for it, if there was one but it looked like a hoot in any case.
Maybe you can start a new activity in your town.
I think I might try to join them next year. What the heck, I will only be 58 years old and walking around in goofy make up sort of suits me sometimes....LOL

`Shocking... I have found that a local organization is having a senior Halloween party style bingo night you must be at least 50m to gain entry, and you don't have to play bingo, they are having some DJ music, 50s, 60s, 70s, maybe older. some country and some soft rock. I believe it said and in any case I may go just to see if I can win a door prize....lol or scare someone... Hope you're going to at least have a safe Halloween in your area.

`I did the halloween thing yrs ago but it doesn't hold any appeal to me now.I lost interests in taking the children out when the local cops starting running halloween like a dictatorship.I mean giving families an hr to take their little kids around to the homes. You have to first decide which neighborhood you think is safe enough, then you have to find a parking spot on the side of the rd. which u can navigate into and out of quickly lol.It wears me out just thinking about it lol.I did enjoy going through the hospital, letting the sick see the kids all dressed up in their little costumes.People got so greedy and hell-bent on hurting others that holidays aren't what they could be imo.Anyway if you have a plan or a set thing you do then go for it and have a great time but as for me,I'll set up the target and practice my long range aim.

`my kids dress up and go with the kids and it always looks like this weird gang of people but oh they have so much fun. There are anywhere from 8-15 people all in a bunch. My youngest daughter started counting heads after they year they ended up with a couple of extra kids who drifted from their own group into my family group. Daughter said the last thing she needed was more kids than she started with.
One year, my son in law decided to go in drag and borrowed a sexy sheer nighty(the only thing that would fit him) from sister in law. While he was getting his dress(?) and hair and makeup done by my sister in law, the beer was, shall we say, flowing freely. Anyway, somewhere on that walk with the kids, son in law ended up on the landing of a house with my daughter below on the sidewalk and from the porch light behind her dear tipsy husband, she discovered that when he was putting on his costume, he neglected to wear underwear with the nylons and his junk was just hanging there......OMG did he get teased about that for a few years.

`omg cookinbubbles ur a mess lol.Your story reminded me of that episode of friends where rachel is putting together her and ross' baby's first birthday party. The cake is made for them and it turns out to look just like a ----- so rachel takes off for the bakery and the rest is history.........I wanted to change gears because I want to tell ya what I saw one year at halloween.I used to live with a church and graveyard out my backdoor.A few yrs bk I was letting my little dog out the bkdr & I was just leaning against the doorframe. It was early morning but it was light out and as I was leaning there I saw this spirit come around the corner of the house and float right by me till it disappeared.I didn't move for a few minutes because I wasn't sure if what I saw was what I saw because for one thing I hadn't had my coffee yet.The thing is that I knew then and I know now that it was what it was and what it was was the spirit of witchcraft. It looked like one of those dolls with dreads and it's face was solid white with cross stitches for eyes. The garment was old broomstyle with long apron from shoulders down over a different garment. After that I put down kosher salt in the shape of the cross at 4 points around my house and asked in prayer for protection and cleansing of the land I was on.
