Pretty darn sure he is one of those who will be contacting women for money.
He contacted me about 2 weeks ago and after begging for my home e-mail, which I declined to do, he started with long romantic(he thinks) e-mails that offer to ignore our age difference(there isn't one) and begging for details of my life like what I do for a living(I already had told him).
Since the details are so incorrect I am assuming this putz is talking to more than one woman. I have been contacted before by some of these guys and I think they tag onto certain buzz words in a profile, like widowed or maybe some other.
The basic profile is always the same: they are widowed too, and ALWAYS Catholic with foreign ties of some kind like a late wife from Italy or in this case the guy is of German decent with an American mother, etc, etc, etc, I am suppose to listen for his German brogue when we talk on the phone(not in this life...!)
His syntax, punctuation and manner of writing is all wrong for an American as well.
Lots of mental red flags went up with this guy.
Anyway, watch it girls.
I blocked him but thought I should put out a warning.

As a reminder, it is inappropriate for members to post negative comments about other members.

If you suspect a member of violating the TOS (Terms of Service), or if you think they may be a spammer or a scammer, report them to us directly using the Report links in every email, on every profile, or in the forum post area.

The member referenced in this thread did appear to be a scammer , so his account was deleted.

If however, he had not been a scammer, then he would have been in the awkward position of having to try and prove he was a 'good guy'.

While we appreciate the desire to try and help to protect other members within the network, we can't have individuals posting negative comments about other members...because it would devolve into a he-said/she-said situation.

[We do appreciate our active members being aggressive about reporting spammers and scammers, so don't mistake our comment here as negative...just a reminder as to the best way to use us, and our systems to make the network work for everyone. The systems aren't foolproof, but for the most part, they do a pretty good job of quickly weeding out the 'bad apples'.]

Thanks,

.

I guess I just got spanked.
I should have known better though.....
Just didn't want anyone else to get caught up in goofy stuff.
The good thing is I am vindicated, I was right, he was a bad buy!!

`I don't mind. They were nice about it and I should have reported this guy to them first maybe.
Its so hard to know if someone IS a scam artist or just dim.
At least I know that my bull---- detector is still in operating order ;-)
