i joined (Site Name Removed) for one month, met some nice people, but two stood out...so the first guy started out normal...then when we would be chatting, he would just keep repeating the same paragraph...then he "honey, sweetie, and baby", started...I thought, we have only spoken a few times,and never even spoke on phone...I mean it just was not right...I mean he just kept repeating the same paragraph...then it finnally happend...he lived in Houston, but was working in Nigeria...and needed me to send him some money...LOL...well , i know these guys can creep into any where trying to scam...so i just did not renew my membeship...did not really blame the (Site Name Removed)...cause i was still talking to another nice gentleman...well at fist seemed nice..suppose to live in Oklahoma, was out of town working...but then it was like he would never really join in the converstion..then the baby, sweetie, and honey started...and again, never spoke to him even on the phone, just chat...then 3 days ago...he is working in Nigeria, and is out of money...and needs me to send him some...LOL..Of couse i told him where to go...but the real problem is the website...when i reported it...they wanted the usernames...well i could not remember,cause like i said i closed the account...so there response was" the only way to see your account is to PAY!!!... So just a war
ing...Don't go there looking for love...cause they don't care who is on there as long as they pay....

`Well Paula, I must agree it's not the websites fault that their greedy it's the politicians. Greed is how they get elected. but that's a whole other kettle of fish. I use to be on many of the same type of sites as you can see on my profile but I mostly didn't go to get a date, or laid. just wanted to chat with friends didn't really care who or where they lived till a lady told me her mother died and she needed money to bury here in Zimbabwe. or some spelling along those lines the point is I felt first a shamed I didn't catch this sooner. but when I finally caught on I reported her and her nickname and the website monitors told me she paid I hadn't renewed so she had more rights then I did. I also reported it to the FBI and they laughed it seems they have so many of the same games being perpetrated they can't keep up with the demand. I beleive if someone ask you for any amount of money for any reason they don't need to be on a date site they can go get a job...

`LOL..you are so right...i mean it is not there fault, i mean scammers will try, whatever they can to get to people..i never fell for any of there crap..i mean if they where any good at it, they might could really rip someone off...What is soo funny, is they thought by calling me "baby" and "honey"..i was gonna empty my bank account and send it to them...I am more angry at the websit for not being more responsable, and trying to at least find out who it was ....and I will even pay for month, and go and alert all members I can...and post there website where ever i can...It might not ruin them...but atleast im doing something about it...It is just wrong...and there might not be a hole lot i can do..but i don't have to shut up about it...I mean there are some people out there that will fall for there lies...and could really get ripped off...and i just can't stand by...if there is anything i can do to prevent that from happening...i am going to at least try...

FYI...we edited this thread and removed the name of another BBW dating site that was listed in the thread topic and within the comments of the thread.

While we understand the motivation for the post...ie. being upset about a scammer on the other site, and the way the whole issue was handled...we feel a little uncomfortable with the forum area being used to slam another site.

It does sound like the issue was handled badly, but rather than focus on a particular site, the important thing to take out of this is how the scammer attempted to work the scam.

Please take a moment to review the ONLINE DATING SAFETY section in the HELP area, and as always, if ANYONE in our network asks you for money in an email, REPORT THEM.

It is against the TOS (Terms of Service) within our network to ask other members for money, for any reason, at any time...period.

Also, if they divulge that they are not in the location listed within their profile...REPORT THEM.

We have a lot of technical restrictions in place to lessen the chance of scams (like the one described), but scammers are sneaky, and no matter how many filters and restrictions we put in place, some people will figure out how to work their way into the network.

The good thing though, is that as soon as someone gets past all the filters, and tries to work a scam, our members are quick to report them...and all the time they spent building their account goes out the window.

Also, we use the information gathered from that account to tighten our filters even more.

`well there you go--problem solved..................I was wondering why tangerine fish was able to put the email she was sent from another passion person in her post in the forums but others are restricted from doing this?
