BBW/BHM pet peeves

My biggest pet peeve is when someone looks me dead in the eye and has the nerve to say, "You would be so pretty if you would just lost some weight, everyone thinks so." So not only are you telling me I am ugly because I am heavy but you are discussing my weight with other people??? I just think that people have this idiotic idea of what beauty is. I am sorry but I do not want to see someone that is all skin and bones. I could break them in half like a twig!!!

`while I have experienced all of the previous things, some to a lessor degree, some to more. the one thing that really irks me too is the clothes, or lack of it.
I have been a big girl all my life and looking like my grandma long before I was a grandma was a cross I had to bear.
Us old ladies don't always like to look like a flower garden on feet but sometimes there is just no choice.
If my choices are a nicely tailored blouse with big blue cabbage roses on it or an ill fitting, plain colored poorly designs top that I would be tugging on the whole time I am wearing well then by golly, cabbage roses, here I come.
I am in Minnesota and am lucky in that we have several stores here in Rochester that offer a variety of sizes and styles. Dot's, Lane Bryant, Catherines, and Fashion bug.
My kids and grand kids would never say a nasty word to anyone like that or face the wrath of either parent or grand parent as my 3 daughters are all large too as was my grandmother in law and father in law.

`Shandalier: I once had a guy tell me how much he liked me..wanted me to move states for him and then a few weeks in had the nerve to tell me "You'll be sexy when you lose...." I had another dear friend(an older gentlemen that I met through my work) tell me " "I can see how beautiful you'd be if you just lost 50 pounds" And it just disturbed me...I mean this idea that beauty or sexiness is somehow tied into what I weigh is stupid. One of biggest pet peeves is being told I have pretty face...grrr....yes but it is attached to a Whole person.
Another pet peeve of mine is... and I know this is going to sound stupid to some....but so many people assume that a bbw has big breasts and some of us just aren't as "gifted" as others....which is a problem when buying clothes
and bras.
My biggeest one is people assuming because I am bigger that I am desperate and dumb. I am neither. A guy once told me he'd love to...f...me(his word not mine) but would never date me. I informed him I'd be that desperate and he would never get that lucky.:)

`I get that all the time I hate it...I thought society was evolving. I had lost a about 110 pounds at one pount but I was still big. I got so much more attention when I lost that weight but it was not the attention I wanted. I think with me being a bbw it helps to weed out most of the guys that just want that one thing. I think it is so wrong for people to assume just because someone has some extra weight they are not worth the good things in life...

This ones not so funny cause I was sitting at my first wife's family pic-nick. I was on one end of a pic-nick table bench and one of my nieces sat at the other end as I relaxed I launched her up and over my head and si feet pass me, the bench was broken under my weight at that time I weighed in excess of 452lbs, I wore a size 60 pants and 5x shirts. everyone at the pic-nic laughed at me not what happened, and a half hour later they helped pick me up off the ground. I now weigh around 330 lbs and ware a size 48-50 pants and 2x to 3x (depending on the cut) shirts. I lost the wieght not for my doctors nor my family cause there is none. but for my diseased second wife whom I was with for 20yrs.(which happened after the park incident)

My biggest pet peeve is when men think just because I am big that I am desperate...I'M NOT!

The deal with the hospital gowns are also stupid...when I was in the ER they gave me two gowns but the person beside me just happen to get the big gown that would have fit me. The gowns for IV's have snap sleeves so they fit big arms but I never seem to get one unless I ask for one. Like someone else said...they put the small BP cup on knowing my arms are fat or when they weigh me they put the scales on 150 pounds and I just reach up and put it up to 250 and tell the lady "Get real"
then I laugh :lol:

`I'm sitting laugh because of what bbwsweetandsimp just wrote. I don't function well as a patient but my second wife did always have fun at their expense. Like Karen mentioned they never truly look at the size of a patient they just send some poor sap to fetch a gown and or slippers and a sheet to cover your nakedness while the doctors come in and glare. as if their looks will make you want to loose all the wieght and they can make more money off of you. but any ways. there was this one time when Peggy had to go for a lower GI ex-ray. Ha the gown coildn't have fit her arms let alone cover her backside. I started to gether dressed to bring her home yelling that the nurses were all stoned or stupid when in walked this Large nurse and she apologized for her fellow nurses ignorance and started to take charge and made peggy's stay a whole lot nicer and friendlier. so the hiospitols are full of some real caring people , BUT some have no clue as tro what they're really doing.
