real or not real photos on profiles?

ok this is what I have started noticing on here is that some of these profiles have fake pics on them and they are usually pics of foreign models or sports players.I know alot of folks think they are safe on a site like this because for one hardly noone comes on these kind of sites except big people or those that love them right?Well as some of you have already mentioned,the bottom feeders are here as well like those asking for money.Well being they can't play on your sympathy then they will appeal to your ---- level through giving you eye candy.It is really sad but it does happen.There are lonely people everywhere and to some of these feeders the big people are even easier prey.On the other hand there are some that ask to be taken advantage of because they are only looking for perfection and those of us that subscribe to the real world know that perfection is unattainable.I hope that I don't hear of that happening on here but I am afraid it has already started.If you aren't sure about a pic then ask one of us in the forums to take a look at the profile and the pics and give you our opinion.GBU guys and good luck

`I agree, this is sad that there are those out there that just want to used people. They try to play on some weakness we all have (I.e. playing on ----). I have noticed some women on here with what looked like too professional looking photos to be done with a camera or what most would have access to, not that it isn't possible that they could. But I ... well I guess I am saying if it looks too good it probably is.

`A while back I was contacted by a guy with a wickedly romantic line, so much so that it sounded like he was reading from one of those romance novels.
I let him ramble on, kind of wondering where this was all going. after all it was the very first time I had met anyone from here, and I wanted to see how far he was going to go. Anyway, his photo was pretty darn nice looking but about a month into contact, he sent me a new photo of himself sitting by "his pool".
It was a totally different man than in the profile photo.
BTW, the money requests came shortly after that. LOL
While people may worry about how crappy a photo looks when you can tell they took it themselves with a cell phone, I figure at least you know its real and not something cut out of a magazine or taken off a web site!
Although there is one guy who has a photo of his hairy belly........no face, just his belly. Hmmm.

`When I'm not sure about certain people, I use tineye.com to see if their picture is elsewhere online. Thanks for the heads up! Some pics are hard to find still.

`I'm a photographer, and I feel like saying a photo is " too good to be true" ( meaning the person is incredibly attractive) is almost like saying someone can be too attractive to be into someone who is bigger. It seems like reverse discrimination. Maybe there are people that fit into the cultural ideal we have of what a person should look like, but happen to be attracted to people who don't fit into such a narrow mold. I think it's great if a model , or an athlete can accept, and even seek out a woman/man who is overweight. It means that our society is going somewhere.

And as to a photo looking too good. Some people just no how to take a good photo or are photogenic. Maybe they have a photographer friend, or maybe they were able to remove some of the common problems photos have, so that they can look their best on a site where they really want to find someone. Whatever the reason, don't discount a persons' profile image just because they look too good. Maybe you were just awesome enough to have someone that amazing be interested in you. Don't let your own self esteem, and culturally constructed doubts discount someone who might be interested.

` I meant picture quality. Unless someone is rich enough most camera used to take the photos will introduce some spatial or high frequency noise in to shot. So I expect to see some kind of distortion in the shot. Now I don't mean to say that everyone that is nicely done is a fake. I know that isn't the case. I have taken image processing course and have photography friends. So I know what to look for.

And that is right they can photographer friends, so not all are fakes.

I do thank you for your comment but we are not talking about someone thinking their too pretty and just so absolutely awesome that the day just simply can't be an utterly beautiful day without them in it.We all know about taking nice shots but most are either using cams or phones to take pics to upload onto their profiles.Now if someone wishes to take a glamour shot to add to their profiles then by all means do so.There is a difference in the quality of the pic when it is uploaded by means of a third entity kinda like third party checks which noone wants anything to do with...........Again thank you andriek.

I actually found 2 hairy belly profile shots, while browsing through men in my age range. One, tattooedbigguy is more of a boob shot though.
The guy who's later photo was a different person was mted. He's still on here but no photo available now. Figures.

I'm fairly new to this site and this fact somehow scares me. Its the first time for me to all open online and the thought that some people aren't real and just playing around is kinda disheartening. Gotta be on the lookout for the real people then

`ok update or example of if a pic is real or not.On the opening page under recent logins on the top row second from left is a pic of a woman that is clearly a professional modeling pic like for a catalog.It is a mysteryyy to me why they would do that.There is another one on here that sticks out in my mind because she uses the same name as the little boop girl,you know the cartoon character--clearly a pic of a plus-size model.Anyway keep looking and keep sharing ur info here ok.gbu

Well, I'm sure that fakes happen a lot. I just think that the fact that those photos could be real should also be taken into account. I know that my dad has had me take photos for him to put on Match.com, and that I used my DSLR and then cleaned them up a little so he looked his best. If I wanted to go to the trouble I could easily take a magazine quality shot of myself, but I would rather have a phone, or compact camera shot on a site like this ( in all honesty mostly so I don't have to explain the quality of the image to doubters of its photos authenticity.)

`Guys and gals, scammers, people who prey on other people, etc. have been around since, well, forever really. This being the internet means there are going to be more of them out there. Even on sites like this. Or should I say, especially on sites like this as bbws are classed as being extremely gullible *she said and punched someone in the face*. All a person can do really is just be cautious and not give out too much personal info too soon and definitely not send any money. This, of course, makes it harder for those people who come here to actually meet someone in an honourable manner. I think I'm going to bed to feel sorry for myself now *sulks*.
