I agree that it has to be in moderation. I do like a compliments but don't over do it. It really does lose its sincerety after a while and makes me feel uncomfortable. I start to think "He's laying it on kinda thick....what does he want?" lol
And to the guys that hate when a woman can't take a compliment, as far as I go, most of my life I have only heard negativity from the opposite --- so it's a rarity to hear a compliment and it takes some getting used to. And to the ladies who can't take a compliment, just say thank you lol.
I know I'm kinda late but these forum aren't exactly "poppin" lol but to Southerfinery, when you wrote that all women are vain I think you should include men in that too. I do think there are different levels of vanity in everyone, some more than others of course lol. Who doesn't wanna hear a compliment at least from time to time. Oh and I have read posts from you and I don't think you are particularly negative or rude

`Compliments are always nice in a relationship as long as they go both ways. Don't expect a compliment if your not able to return the favor. Personally I like the compliments you aren't expecting. That text you get in the middle of a hectic day at work. That message that makes you smile or giggle and has the coworkers asking who the lucky man is. |

`awe ty daydreamer86 and I am glad that"former member" was taken off ur nic.I'm glad you decided to stay awhile longer. No I don't set out to be rude but am often misunderstood.I guess I should ask for advice but then I would look like someone trying to get on the most popular list by asking folks to view my profile and tell me what they think lol.....As for that all women are vain line of mine well I bet you can't guess where I heard that and if you were to say an old Bonanza episode then you would be right. It was from a woman running a school on how to be a proper lady.GBU guys

`I believe that the 'less is more' (not automatically) approach seems best so that when I do give compliments, they're decently timed and a little creative since they're coming out naturally rather than forced. Like if I know they're working on a really busy day, something nice after the storm gets more mileage IMO.
