Do jobs or income matter?

I know that this topic is rather old but I just had to put my two cents worth in!!

A job and income do matter!!! I don't really care about what type of job a man has as long as it is job that he enjoys. If you are happy in your job, it can give you a sense of fullfillment and a sense of worth. If you don't have a job, how can you be a productive member of society or in a relationship?
Income does matter but I don't think that the amount matters as long as the man does not have some antiquated ideas about gender roles. I cannot see myself dating a man who has a problem with me making more than him but I can see myself dating a man who makes less than me and does not make an issue of it. Marriage and dating are hard enough without bringing money issues into it but unfortunately it happens. Struggles with money has broken up a many of marriages. That is just a fact of life.
