I don't know about other people, but I'd like to be able to email more than 5 times a day. There are some cool people I would like to chat with, but the chat room is often empty. It is also just more convenient time wise to email than go to the chat room all the time. I would suggest maybe more like 10 emails a day.

Since we're 100% free, we tend to attract some 'bad apples' who would like to use our system to spam people. By limiting email to 5 messages a day, we make it less likely that people will want to sign up for that purpose.

Keep in mind that you can have unlimited daily email with anyone who has you added onto their 'Friends/Favorites' list though.

Once you have established a connection with someone, you can send them as many messages as you would like, without it cutting into your 5 email daily limit (to people you are just getting to know). And anyone on your list is considered to be 'trusted' and they can send you as many messages as they would like too.

This is all part of our attempt to limit the negative impact of 'spammers' within our network.

And aside from the email restrictions, we have a lot of spam filters in place too. We're constantly updating them (every day) based on what we see happening within the system. Hopefully most of you haven't had to deal with any spam issues, because we try to nip it in the bud as soon as we spot it.

We are listening, and feedback/comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We just changed to a new chat/IM system based on requests from our members, and while it is still in it's early stages, we think it will end up being much more user-friendly.

We'll take another look at this, and consider a change to see what happens.

We still think that 5 a day (to people you are attempting to make contact with) seems like a reasonable amount.

By upping it to 10 though, it might make it even easier for us to identify people trying to send spam.

No promises, but we're meeting to go over new additions to the site tonight, and it's now on the list of things to look at.

With the exception of posting links to other sites, or posting offensive lanquage, or posting hate speech, it's unlikely we would delete someone's account for a forum post.

Usually we'll just edit a post or delete it entirely.

And just so you know that the rules aren't carved in stone, we'll allow some links to other sites in forum posts...if the link is on theme with the thread, and it is placed by someone who is a regular member/poster.

When someone joins, barely enters anything in their profile, and rushes to post a message about this 'great new site' everyone has to check out, well that is a problem.

Separately, just thought you all might like to know that we are probably going to add audio and video functionality into the chat system in the next week or so.

Hopefully that will encourage more chat activity.
