Posted: Post subject: Dieting Information? |
|
|
We are going to begin building a 'Diet Information' section within the site.
Since Large Passions is open to all types of members, there are a number who are looking for diet information, as well as many who struggle with the on-again off-again diet roller-coaster.
We would like to ask for feedback from members on what type of information you would like to see incorporated into a 'Diet Section' on Large Passions.
Thanks,
:)

I have been yo-yo dieting for years and all it's got me is gaining more and more weight. We need some advice on stopping the yo-yo, it's difficult to even want to diet again.

I'd be willing to share vegetarian healthy eating tips (I refuse to 'diet'!).

`for a start, dont call it dieting, that infers it is something you are on short term..... if you really want to be the "ideal" weight, bmi, whatever then you will have to change the way that you eat completely, forever!!!
this was too much commitment for me, so, i remain a fatty (size18)

it has me more aware of what i actually put in my mouth, and look at what it contains.

`Two sayings come to mind on this subject... Never trust a skinny woman's cooking and never take dieting tips from a fat woman.
That being said, and being a fat woman myself, if you offer a dieting forum I would like to see more advice on behavioral issues of weight gains and loss.
Also some personal tips that have worked for people and ideas and possible things to try out that others have found interesting.
Big is Beautiful---no doubt just look at the photos of the people here, but as for me I am in the slow process of lossing a few pounds for the simple fact that 250 pounds on a 5' 2" frame is not the healthiest combibantion.
I don't want to be "skinny" or even medium just at a weight that will be less stressful for my heart (the poor thing).
So I have begun the cutting back on food and adding a little (very little) exercise to my weekly schedule. My plan is to lose 1 to 3 pounds a month untill I reach my personal ideal weight of 170.

`ok I am getting hungry and I think I will make pancakes and add in a little metamucil for poor colons sake.I like the turkey(jenni-o) links and/or patties and they cook up so fast especially in the microwave.Well what do you say I fix enough for everybody.I can put on some coffee, open up the patio and build a fire and afterwards we can sing songs or target shoot or ride the bikes.I was thinking around 7 or so?Now if I can figure out how to show a movie using all these trees.oh yea I almost forgot ya bring your appetites.

`I have found that adding flax to baked foods - low fat muffins, breads, pancakes, etc really keeps me from getting hungry, and is good for cholesterol too :)

`Diets, smiets. Healthy looks many ways. Take other mamals for example, a greyhound is thin, as a human we'd call it anorexic, a pyrenees dog from a distance looks like a polar bear, as a human we would call it obese. Yet for their breeds they are normal, healthy and prized for their physical attributes. Now look at another mamal, the breed of house cat, the largest Main-Coon at 15-25 lbs and the smallest Singapura at 4-9 lbs. A Main-coon made to loose weight until its was 4 lbs would be deadly. YET for HUMANS we are expected to be GENERIC, to all conform to one ideal, as if all men & women came out of a doll factory, instead of evloving in different climates and environments resulting in changing our physiques, tall, short, dark, light, skinny, large.
