Intellectual, rocker, and regular dude Aim for me at jakthewhite.

I'm more of an intellectual than an athlete or party animal. I try to use both sides of my brain: I'm an *nalytical type, but I love music, the arts, food, and the great outdoors.

I have a lot of weird random interests -
I am currently obsessed with robotics, I just joined a band.

I'm a software engineer and a graduate student in the field of Computer Science. When I'm not working, I try to pursue as many of my interests as I can, as well as having weird conversations with my room mate.

I play the bass, guitar, and piano, and have played in bands and done some composing over the years.

I can cook, not at the chef level, but pretty well for a young dude.

I remember a lot of trivia, probably from reading too much and watching too much discovery channel as a kid.

Books:
The Hobbit, the Giver (both from way back), Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter S. Thompson, tons of nonfiction.

Movies:
The Big Lebowski, Silence of the Lambs, the Marix, Legends of the Fall, Tommy Boy. Too many to list here.

Music:
Metallica, Beatles, Rush, Black Sabbath, King's X, Bill Evans Trio, Stravinsky, Prokofiev

Food:
Almost everything. I love variety. Tapas, Indian, Thai, Sushi, Italian, good old meat and potatoes. If it's prepared well, I'll almost certainly like it.
