First off, I'll just say that I'm a physically imposing guy. On the rare occasion that I go to a club, people either think that I'm a bouncer or try to give me a job to be one. Door jamb to door jamb shoulders, and all that. Currently dieting a bit to lose some of the excess gained from a career as a software developer, although I look completely fit in the 270 range. I'm a work in progress on multiple levels and am not perfect, nor do I expect anyone else to be.

I have a variety of interests, reading up on philosophy, history, cooking, sports, politics, religion, and science. I would probably rather have the newspaper or an article in front of me than the television, which I rarely watch. When I do find a show I like, I tend to wait until I can see the entire season on DVD or Netflix, and I'll just go on a marathon to see the entire thing. I have a small nephew who I love dearly, and I know it will break my heart when I eventually leave for greener pastures (work).

My friends would probably describe me as funny, a bit nerdy, witty, warm, and sarcastic. I like to know things for the sake of knowing. I respect that people have the rights to believe what they want to believe and love who they want to love. While I grew up in an old Southern family with some *cough* at times, faintly bigoted views, I see no reason to continue that part of the tradition. I see the good in things, use those to better myself, and can do without the rest.

I am not superstitious. I would describe myself as agnostic and have thought this through. Anyone who would want to enter into a relationship with me should show me the courtesy that I am an adult and can make an adult decision, and I will in turn show the same courtesy.

As to who I'd be interested in: she'd have to be smart, witty, have a sense of humor, and enjoy a variety of intellectual pursuits. Bonus points if she can let her hair down and play like a kid sometimes. We are the fortunate ones: s
